About This Pipe Tobacco
For Sweet English, the folks at C&D start with a traditional American Cavendish base of Virginias, Burleys and black Cavendish, add a dash of Latakia, and finish it with a specially formulated flavor mixture of caramel and vanilla.

Very odd. Jar note smells like kettle corn. No sweetness in the smoke. Tastes like mild cavendish and just a hint of latakia. Will smoke thru the rest of the oz I got, but not going back for more.

This stuff is just absolutely awful. The only way to describe it is it tastes like tire fire. I couldn't even make it through the first Bowl I threw the rest of it in the trash. How can so many of you put down aromatics and then smoke this stuff ... I'm sorry but I just don't get it

is Good. You don't always have to be choking on a Blend for it to be prosperous... A+ is the grade I give It. (Someone said it smelled like vomit? And left a Ghost in your bowl? Why would you smoke it if is smelled that way to you?? LOL

en baking chocolate, but after a while of dissecting, you will mostly smell the Virginia. It is a bit spicy through the nostrils and easy on the tongue. At times you will taste the sweet cavendish or the natural Virginia, a little of the nuttiness of the burley, and the latakia makes this blend pop. I definitely recommend it. Other friends who mostly smoke balkans or Englishes like it as well as my aromatic smoking friends. It is perfect for either mood....Read More

Sweet English

(new).
Notes from the bag are a slight Virginia tang, some burnt sugar and the leathery smell I associate with Latakia.
Dammit man, this is nice. Very soft. The Virginia tang and the sweet topping make a nice sweet and sour balance.
Balance. That’s the word for this blend. The Latakia is just enough to be noticeable and it melds with the sweeter elements in a very pleasing way.
This blend is silky smooth. Again I’m struck with how balanced it is. I think it is misnamed - I wouldn’t call it Sweet English - I’d call it Smooth English. It’s like a decent English, just muted.
It is so easy to smoke. When you see folks say “new pipers should avoid aros and start with an English blend” I think this would be a solid suggestion.
How would a tiny teeny bit of Perique show here ? Probably nice but it’s not needed.
Easily an all day blend.
My rating : 5 - I will be buying a pound of this on my next payday.
(This is the 8th of the 101 C&D bulk blends I am sampling.)...Read More
