To be quite frank, John Aylesbury isn't an actual person. Instead, he represents a collective of German tobacconists who united under a single name. They specialize in distributing a variety of pipe brands, while also featuring their own line of premium pipe tobaccos.

John Aylesbury's Dragon Flake is an Aromatic mixture composed of Black Cavendish, Burley, and Virginias, all topped with sweet notes of vanilla, caramel, and maple syrup.

This was not what I was expecting. For an aromatic, this blend has some delicious flavor! From the initial light to end of the bowl, I get flavors of vanilla and caramel. My family also loves the way it smells. Will definitely be buying more!

Give it half a bowl.

So the first half of this was nothing special, and I was kind of disappointed and then about a 1/3 of the way through, something started to happen. By the 1/2 away point, it got really good. Not so much on the honey or vanilla, but just a little bit of like slightly burnt caramel in the back. Overall this ended up being a pretty darn good bowl of tobacco. This is an excellent blend that gets better with age. Just cracked a tin from 2021 and thought to myself. "How is it that I've waited so long to come back to this one." Highly recommend giving it a good.

This isn't a bad smoke, but it's not going to set itself apart either. Aromatic flakes aren't incredibly common, but nor are they rare. I can't say this is any better than the Firedance flake by SG.

This is an exceptionally awesome aromatic! I absolutely love the tin note, can’t quite identify all the aromas but there is definitely some vanilla, maple, baked goods, and chocolate. There’s something about it though that I can’t quite describe, it just really has a unique and yummy smell! It is a perfect presentation of beautiful delicious smelling flakes that look good enough to eat! The smoke aroma is amazing of course and it has a great sweet flavor, it actually leaves a really yummy sweetness in your mouth unlike any other aro I’ve had. But it is also really well balanced with the natural tobacco flavors and absolutely not over cased or topped! Probably one of the best aromatics I’ve ever had and definitely a new favorite!
