Sir Walter Raleigh pipe tobacco was first introduced in 1927 and is currently produced in the United States. Sir Walter himself was introduced quite a bit earlier, the 1500s in fact, and became known for many deeds of valor and courage, as well as the man who popularized smoking in Europe. A Burley blend with hints of anise and molasses, Sir Walter Raleigh Regular has been a popular favorite of countless smokers for generations.

A tasty burley smoke. IMO- as good as a double priced tin. Try it and prove it for yourself. Not strong, burley prominent, no dicerable nic hit with no bite. Smooth smoke, non aromatic. I, unfortunately, was not into pipe smoking before STG acquired this. I heard great things about it, so I purchased it as one of my starting blends. Well, exactly as you must have seen everywhere by now, this tobacco is just plain unpleasant. The only note is vinegar, and I find it to be way too strong. I don't know what STG did to this blend ... but when I opened the pouch, I get smacked in the face with a heavy vinegar smell. It caused my eyes to start watering. And it wasn't just one pouch.
