Irish Flake 50g Pipe Tobacco

This is an amazing smoke! I get a men's cologne flavor from it... a musk if you will. This is the first Dark Fired Kentucky blend I have tried. I will absolutly seek out more blends with Dark Fired Kentucky, and I already added another tin of Peterson Irish Flake to my cart.

My fiancé - who mostly vapes and doesn’t PIPE SMOKE - says this is their favorite blend yet. Interesting, as it’s strong, dirty, and bright. A great smoke to rub out into shagg and let burn to the depths of the dottele, of which it leaves none…

For a few years now, I’ve been trying to find a good replacement for Mac Baren Old Dark Fired Kentucky, and Bold Kentucky since they were discontinued. After reading several reviews about Irish Flake, I finally decided to give it a try—and I’m glad I did. Irish Flake is every bit as good as Old Dark Fired, and in some ways, I’d say it’s even better. It has a good amount of kick without being overwhelming, and I’d put the strength right around medium full. The blend has a very nice balance, but the dark-fired component really stands out and gives it that deep, rich character I’ve been looking for. The flavor is excellent, with plenty of depth and a satisfying smokiness. For me, this is about as close to the perfect blend of these components as I’ve found. Definitely a repeat buy....Read More

I was a bit worried this might be too strong after reading the reviews but I am pleasantly surprised that it is a really nice complex tobacco. It does have a great nicotine kick but it also has a great rich flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. I rubbed it out and let it dry for about an hour and it felt a bit too dry when I packed my pipe but when I lit it the moisture was perfect. I didn't experience any tongue bite at all. The tobacco burned down to ash with no nasty wet dottle.I will definitely be stocking up on this one....Read More

This tobacco is strong, but if that's what you're looking for, then this is a perfect blend. I like it in the morning with coffee. It's a straight tobacco taste with a solid nicotine hit.
