Great smoke straight from the tin, only relit once in my Brigham Voyager. Great flavor and cool smoke throughout. Have smoked other Peterson Aromatics, this one is one of the best from their line.

For me, the top note beyond the tobacco blend is walnut, I get a lot of nuttiness with just a hint of vanilla behind it. So if you're looking for something that's not nearly as sweet as say the Killarney or the connoisseurs choice, this is it.

Taste is mild to medium and mostly consistent, with notes of nuts, sweet vanilla, sugar, slight creaminess, wood, honey, spices, savory, rich, marshmallow, floral, grassy, earthy, tangy citrus, mildly acidic, mildly bitter, a sweet-toasted bread background note, and an almost smooth slight peppery retro. dration disk and it didn’t help. I fired up a bowl this morning and the tobacco crunched and broke as I packed it. To a match like dried out kindling. Slowly puffing I could tell that the toppings were very good and if this was fresh and properly hydrated, it would probably be delicious. I do like to dry my tobaccos and smoke them on the dry side, but this too much. It burns too fast and a bit too hot to be enjoyable. The tin had that proper vacuum seal pop upon opening so I’m not sure if this was a bad batch, or if it was improperly sealed, or sat in the Arizona sun for 20 years, but it’s not smokable as is. It seems all Peterson aromatics have two things in common. They smell incredible and are very weak on flavor. All I get, flavor-wise, from Deluxe Mixture is just a feeling of warm smoke in the mouth.

I absolutely loved this blend of flavor from the tin. I could still taste the individual flavor of the tobacco over the flavor added. It is definitely a favorite of mine

Not a bad smoke, no bite, smooth and mellow, burns well. I think it lacks in flavor, smells better in tin, then it tastes.

My first try was horrendous with plenty of tongue bite (my fault naturally). I could not taste anything but during subsequent smokes I managed to enjoy the hint of sweetness from the flavouring (still deciding what is it). The smoke emitted could be rather thick in my opinion.
Room note is pleasant. The sweet scent is not overpowering and enjoyed by non-smoker.
One thing I like about De Luxe Mixture is the caramelish smell that lingers on my moustache once I'm done. I think this is a good start for beginners to learn about aromatics. Waiting for my orders from smokingpipes.com. Read Less

This is a very good Cavendish. The tobacco flavors are out front of the top flavoring. Fine by itself, it taste even better with a cup of creamed coffee. Coffee brings out the walnut.

Second entry to the previous, I give this a 3.5 stars as most aromatics tend to be over done with the casing. This tobacco is more mellowed and it's nice to taste the natural flavour of the virgina cavendish mix.
