I bought three tins of this back in 2019 and crammed it all into a 16 ounce mason jar. It was very good right out of the tin, but as I have returned to it occasionally over the years, the sweetness has developed into something that is exquisite. It has taken on a flavor similar to sassafras candy with dark berries and subtle spices. Given the quality fresh out of the tin, the product availability, and the apparently excellent aging potential, I would rank this blend above most of my collection. The Va's give it a subtle sweet flavor, while the Burley provides a little body to the blend and a little nutty flavor. The perique comes in with a pleasant spice on the back end. The ribbons are dry but not too much so. Perfect moisture to light easy, stay lit, and burn slow. It has all the wonderful yeast of good Virginia and a bit of body from the burley, which is applied lightly. The perique adds just enough punch to make it satisfying without going overboard. It’s a fairly simple everyday blend, but has just enough complexity to keep it interesting. Bulk or tinned, it remains consistent. This is really good stuff, and well worth a try....Read More
