Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Limited Edition 2025 100g
Not what I was expecting (in a good way)
When I hear aromatic I assume goopy. This tobacco was not goopy at all, in fact it arrived at the perfect moisture for smoking. I actually bought this for the tin, really cool design. I was pleasantly surprised by the Kopp-produced tobacco, I can’t pick up any specific flavors. What I do notice is high quality tobacco, it doesn’t bite and has a nice mellow flavor. There are some nice pressed flakes in the mix with cube cuts, will def savor this ‘baccy. I will def be purchasing more Kopp and ES 4th gen products. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Gladora - Pesse Canoe Oriental Flake 50g
Pleasant VaOr
Has an interesting plum or pomegranate topping (almost like a jam), flakes crumble easily. Casing burns off and leaves amazing oriental flavors behind, will def keep some in the cellar

Dan Tobacco - Blue Note 250g
Not a goopy aromatic by any means
This tobacco has a wonderful coconut-vanilla flavor that sublimate the tobacco flavors perfectly. It isn’t goopy or overly cased at all, in fact it burns very well and tastes great. Dan is definitely one of my favorite brands cheers and happy piping 💨

Dan Tobacco - Sweet Vanilla Honeydew 250g
Not a goopy aromatic in any way
This is very subtly cased, it lets the quality tobacco shine through. I was expecting a stronger flavor but the quality of the tobacco made up for my incorrect expectation. It burns pretty slowly for a pure Virginia and tastes great!

Sir Walter Raleigh - Aromatic 1.5oz
Solid codger
Has a maple flavor to it, nice mix of burley and Virginia. Nothing fancy but solid nonetheless

Tampers & Tools - Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Pipe Tool - Stainless Steel Chrome
Solid tool
Knife had some burs, easy to fix. Has a nice heft to it, tools all work well. Can see myself using this into old age or until I lose it lol 😂. *Edit- I noticed the pick and knife are a little loose, kinda wiggly. It hasn’t affected functionality yet

Tampers & Tools - Czech Pipe Tool
Perfect simple tool
No frills, doesn’t need them. Every pipe smoker should have one somewhere

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Black Dot
This is about the tobacco
Beautiful red Virginia’s and spicy Perique come together with black cavendish (even though it’s not listed). This tastes better young than its cheaper cousin LBF, that being said both are great. Red dot just tastes great fresh and the LBF ages to gold (I assume the red dot ages to perfection as well but time will tell 😉)

Samuel Gawith - Cannon Plug 8oz
Tea and honey 🍯
This plug was the easiest to cut out of any that I have purchased, it broke up easily as well. It is def moist and requires drying with the length depending on the relative humidity in your area. The flavor lived up to the hype imo def floral, fruity, and sweet. Really looking forward to experimenting with different preparation methods and pipes. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Brown Irish X Aromatic Twist
Aromatic for sure!
This tobacco is very tasty, it has a Lakeland essence. It def is stout and will fulfill your vit N needs. If left out to dry for too long it loses flavor, works great as a blender or on its own. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Half and Half - Half and Half 1.5oz
Decent codger
Nothing fancy, has nice taste when sipped slowly. I enjoy the slight sweet/spicy flavors. Was a bit dry but just added fruit peel to pouch overnight and the baccy was back in action

Cornell & Diehl - Long Cut Perique
Tang/spice/funk or je ne sais quoi
This reminds me of the blue cheese of the pipe tobacco world. It is funky and zesty, it has real character that cannot be simulated. The fermentation is apparent in the aroma and flavor coming through the smoke. I cut this into granular pieces, I think of it like grinding my coffee beans. The flavors really come out after it’s been cut into a fine shag. I recommend this tobacco as a bulk blending component, it’s really handy for adding that je ne sais quoi. When a blend isn’t singing enough or falling a little flat give it a piquant punch of Perique. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Samuel Gawith - St. James Flake Burnt Ends 8oz
Complex flavors coming through
These look like baby back ribs, same shape and color. Virginias provides vegetative/tang qualities and Perique supports with spice/funk. Nice dense long mini plugs taste great when cube cut, rubbing out some kindling on top. The burnt ends provide some caramelization of the sweetness in the Virginias. This will age well imo, cheers and happy piping 💨

Cornell & Diehl - Gentleman Caller 2oz
Solid VaBurPer
If you haven’t tried deertongue and enjoy vanilla-esque flavors def get on that. This blend and crooner will always be in my rotation. The flavor of deertongue is hard to describe, orange blossom/soft mint/tonquin bean would be my best description. It really plays well with the other tobaccos in this blend. I would imagine it ages well. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Extra Sweet Brown Bogie Twist
Not extra sweet but really great nonetheless
Top quality leaf, period. Old style presentation which I love, you will need a knife, scissors, or cigar cutter. If it dries out too much it gets harsher and loses flavor. Has rich cigar like qualities at times and notes of sweetness as well. It’s not lacking in vitamin N, def stout on that front. This can also be chewed and I would assume ages well. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Samuel Gawith - Full Virginia Flake Burnt Ends 8oz
I love ribs
These look like baby back ribs, with the shape and color. The flavor is unique, it had a vegetative quality. I took a gamble as I hadn’t tried FVF or FV plug, it paid off big time. There is no denying the quality of the leaf, a nice blend of light/dark & in between. I plan to cellar this and check on it in a few years, cheers and happy piping 💨

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Coffee Caramel
Excellent flavor
Truly excellent flavor, it is very moist though. Def tasted best in my Falcon with a meerschaum bowl. The sweet caramel peaks through first with a latte-esque flavor coming through on the retrohale. Very nice quality tobacco, highly recommend for aro lovers, cheers and happy piping 💨

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Scotch Mixture
Not a Latakia bomb to say the least, more English-aro-lite
If you are looking to have your palate obliterated look elsewhere, this is high quality tobacco. If I had to guess I’d say that the cavendish and Latakia %’ages have been flipped. So 7.5% Latakia and 12.5% cavendish, it’s very smooth, I would describe it as English-aro-lite. This could be an all day smoke, one of the best parts is how well it burns and doesn’t bite. If you are looking for a more Virginia-forward English blend this is fine leaf. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Sutliff - RL-BD
Boozy topping
Nice tang from orientals and smokiness from Latakia. Very pungent imo, quality leaf

Peter Stokkebye - PS403 Luxury Bullseye Flake
Solid VaPer with cav
This is a classic great tobacco, the coin cut is what really distinguishes it from other VaPers. If you are new this is a great introduction to flakes, you can fold and stuff, cube cut, or rub it all the way out. You get different flavors from different preparation methods or bowl sizes/shapes. Virginia has nice bread notes, Perique adds some spice/funk, and the cav supports and rounds out the flavors. This is affordable enough to cellar and would age well imo, cheers and happy piping 💨

Samuel Gawith - Grousemoor 8oz
Lakeland all the way
This ribbon cut tobacco is super floral, with bright Virginias adding zest. I was unsure if I would like the topping, descriptions of perfume and soap didn’t sound appealing. It’s not as bad as that sounds, it actually accentuates the flavor of the tobacco wonderfully. The quality of the leaf is very apparent in how well the tobacco burns and tastes. One of my favorite mixtures is grousemoor with ennerdale, they really play off of each other. I keep refilling the original tin I bought, and think I will always keep this in my rotation. Cheers and happy piping 💨

I think I will always keep this in my rotation, cheers and happy piping 💨

Dan Tobacco - Milonga 50g
Sweet Caramel
This is quality tobacco, it has a unique creaminess that is quite scrumptious. It could be one of my desert island tobaccos, it has great flavor. The only downside is that it can bite if you freight train it, which is easy to do with the yummy caramel coconut-esque taste. I hope SP sells the 250g bag of this someday, I would definitely buy it! The mysore really shines through and makes this blend excellent, just be careful not to get overzealous puffing away. It will bite you due to the naturally occurring sugars, but if you go low and slow you will be good to go! Cheers and happy piping 💨

Drucquer & Sons - Rule Britannia 100g
Tangy smoke
The tin note reminds me of hot sauce, very pungent. It smokes cool and smooth, very tasty. The red Virginia sings and the Latakia plays great supporting role. The Turkish tobaccos are very tangy with the red Virginia I think that is where the hot sauce flavor comes from. GL Pease hit it out of the park with this one, I wish I could have visited the Berkeley Drucquer & Sons store, but at least we have the tobaccos to enjoy. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Samuel Gawith - 1792 Mini Plug 8oz
The elusive tonquin-esque essence
This was my first time experiencing the tonquin bean extract on tobacco, I can believe other reviewers stating that it has been reduced in recent productions. Regardless these are mini plugs of the 1792 flake and that gives you freedom to explore the leaf. My first bowl was in a Falcon with a meerschaum bowl, I cut up up into cubes and rubbed out some kindling to put on top. The flavors were incredible, the dark fired was really nice with the added essence. Next I tried pulling chunks apart with my fingers and pulling the individual leaves apart. I found that if it dried some of the flavors were lost to the ether. Lately I have been adding some to my aro or English blends for a little kick or flavor. The quality of the tobacco really shines through and it has a unique taste. If you like the flake and want to explore the leaf further this is really good, cheers and happy piping 💨

Samuel Gawith - Golden Glow Broken Flake 8oz
Virginia tea
This is a love letter for Virginia lovers, it has a nice/natural tea-like aroma (no topping) on the pouch note. Not much depth, but if you puff slowly you will be rewarded with excellent flavor and burning characteristics. Packing similarly to how you would pack a shag gave me the best results. Cheers and happy piping 💨

Missouri Meerschaum - The Diamondback with Spring Stem
Great smoker
This pipe works best with Mac Baren Mixture Scottish or something similar (lightly aromatic). Really like the look of it and it smokes great. Cheers and happy piping 💨 *Edit- after some time of using this pipe it is one of my favorites. It has a nice balance and is easy to clench. Really love the colorful stem, gives pied piper vibes lol

Cornell & Diehl - We Three Kings 2oz
Nice lite-aro
I couldn’t detect all of the flavors in the description, what I did pick up was quality tobacco with a sweetish taste. My experience has been that the bowls with the most red Virginia flake taste the best, really nice baked goods aroma. I bought two tins and plan to cellar this for 3 years at least to see how it ages, cheers and happy piping 💨

Cornell & Diehl - Crooner
Daily driver
This is a delicious tobacco, the deertoungue may not be for everyone and it can ghost a pipe. The cube cut burley is quite tasty and burns cool. Many of the tobacco blends I enjoy don’t have burley so I use this as a blender. It also tastes great on its own. Cheers 💨

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Afternoon Melange
Solid English
For a bulk option this is excellent, great flavor and burns well. I bought a pound and have been steadily going through it and loving the consistency and flavor. Def not lacking on Latakia or orientals(IMO as I am not a lat fanatic), cheers! 💨

Falcon - AKB Rusticated Billiard
Meerschaum Falcon bowl
This is my first meerschaum pipe, I love it. Great craftsmanship and quality of material. Will def buy another AKB product
