About This Pipe Tobacco

From Cornell & Diehl comes this Scottish type blend of Latakia, Perique, Virginias, Turkish, and Burleys that boasts a heavier Perique component than normally found in a classic Scottish blend. Bayou Night is a full smoke that is surprisingly cool on the palate.

Product: Cornell & Diehl Bayou Night Bulk

Great smoke..only reason I’m giving it a 4.5 is it was a little on the dry side..could be that way cause I bought a pound and not a tin. The way this stuff smokes and tastes is amazing tho..definitely a must try if you haven’t. I must let you know the pound I received has almost 6 months age to it already..can’t wait to see what a few years will turn this already great smoke into...Read More

Product: Cornell & Diehl Bayou Night Bulk

I don’t know why so many reviews on this site are like “this is NOT for women and it’ll offend millennials,” who are in their 40s now, by the way. I feel like I have to write my own reviews just to let people know we’re not all like that. Anyway this is a really nice tobacco, if maybe not as intense as the strength and taste ratings make it out to be. The Latakia adds a hint of smoke and gives everything body — I feel like Latakia can sometimes add a sort of metallic, meaty taste for me, but I don’t get that here. This is really feeding my interest in more strongly-flavored blends. I thought I didn’t like Latakia, but either the Perique in this balances it out nicely or C&D has just used it really well in this....Read More

Smokes better than it smells

Product: Cornell & Diehl Bayou Night 2oz

definitely smokes better than it smells. The tobacco has a funky, sour, vinegar-like aroma that I’m not particularly fond of. Once lit, that sharpness settles down and it becomes a decent smoke. It’s not quite the rich, smoky English profile I normally prefer, but it smokes well enough despite the unpleasant first impression....Read More

Product: Cornell & Diehl Bayou Night 2oz

wonderful English blend, if you want motr latakia try Mountain camp the amounts of perique and latakia are reversed for a more smokey latakia forward smoke. Both are wonderful. just ordered a pound after trying 2 oz. tin 4 oz. bulk and a 8 oz.bulk maybe a pound will last me this is good stuff....Read More

New to pipe smoking still learning what I like. Do enjoy this one but think it could use a little more of that smoky flavor just a touch more Latakia would set it over the top. I added in a bit of Dark Kentucky to it and damn near made it perfect
