from the topping, more of that dark fired kentucky to shine through (you barely even see a flake of it in the tin), and even just downright needs more moisture in the leaf. My tin was practically already dried out when I opened it, to the point I was thinking about dehydrating it with some more bourbon, because the bourbon barely comes through too. With all of those grievances out of the way, the flavor isn't bad, with subtle vanilla and tobacco essences gracing the smoke every now and then. Once in awhile the blend can come off as cigarettey and harsh due to how dry the leaf comes packaged. That dryness can result in a "pepperiness" that doesnt compliment the blend if you puff too hard....Read More

of 'baccy on Quiet Nights and have ordered a lot of Pease tins for my cellar. But this was bitter and harsh right out of the tin, which I contribute to the VA's in it, and didn't get much better. No harm nor foul there. You have to know how to take VA's if you're going to smoke them. After burning off the topping, I settled into more of the Perique which did improve the smoke a little. There was also the agitation in the retrohale which often comes with the addition of DFK in the blend. At the end of the day, a smoke should be enjoyable. Easy Smoke

I love this blend because it's so easy going. I can smoke it anytime from first thing in the morning until night. The hardy tobacco used is rounded out by a beautiful vanilla flavor. Great for a quick "pick-me-up" smoke, and will surely lighten your spirit
