About This Pipe Tobacco
When Dunhill announced it would no longer be producing tobacco, pipe smokers rued the loss of some of their favorite mixtures. Thanks to Peterson, however, those beloved blends are still available. They're the same recipes and feature the same tin art as Dunhill's, just re-branded for Peterson.
Dunhill's most luxurious pipe tobacco, Royal Yacht is here offered from Peterson. Virginias are carefully conditioned to ensure sweetness before being enhanced by a secret, subtle flavoring. It highlights the Virginias' natural sweetness while making for a delectable flavor profile all its own — one that's enticed pipe smokers for decades.

lunch break—the sort who says he smokes for enjoyment, but really just needs something strong and straightforward to get through the day. In that sense, Royal Yacht serves a purpose.
But with so many genuinely complex, nuanced blends on the market, I don’t see much reason to spend your time or money on Royal Yacht.

um. I just taste a nice sweet tobacco flavor. I like sitting on my deck and reading with a nice big bowl of this packed. If you’re super nicotine sensitive it may be a bit much. But I wouldn’t call it a super high nicotine level. Something about this blend just feels like home to me....Read More

It’s the only straight Virginia that fully satisfies me in a combination of strength and flavour (though I'd still like it to be just a bit stronger). Most of other Virginias I tried lack one or even both of these features. I suspect there’s a special leaf, treatment, or even a hint of Burley or Rustica involved. Whatever it is, it adds a sharp, slightly rough edge without compromising the Virginia character, unlike many VaBur/dark fired mixes. With my high tolerance, most Virginias feel too mild, but this one hits the perfect balance—firm in strength without being overwhelming—and it still smokes smoothly. Those with lower tolerance can simply use smaller bowls and a slow cadence for a moderate, enjoyable nicotine hit.
The flavor is another aspect that sets this blend apart. The pairing of quality leaf and casing creates a complex, richly layered profile: sweet and slightly sour, hay-like and fruity, with touches of citrus, nuts, wood, earth, leather, and noticeable cocoa. Everything works together harmoniously. I’m not claiming it tastes *better* than the top-tier Virginias—though it’s certainly not worse—but it is distinctly unique and far superior to average Virginias. Among Virginias, it stands out for me the way Escudo stands out among VaPers. It’s also not hard to access its full flavor, regardless of pipe or cadence.
This blend holds a solid place in my top 10 tobaccos—I love all 10 of them equally, and whichever I choose becomes number one at that moment. It’s also among my top 5 Virginias. Over the past 3–4 years, I’ve tried more than 200 blends, including over 50 Virginias, straight and mixed, and this one remains exceptional.

Light topping. I'm not sure what it's but I'm not into it.
After a light, it's tastes amazing and the strength is awesome.
I'm so going to buy more and cellar them
