- ► @Robert F In doing research for the article, I found there was a lack of definitive information regarding the origins of the blend's name, at least anything that could be perceived as accurate. There were some decent educated guesses, but nothing that pinpointed where the name came from. It might be one of those cases where it's lost to history. However, the slogan "St. Bruno, the patron saint of pipe tobacco," could be interpreted as a possible nod to St. Bruno of Cologne. That was the most reasonable and detailed theory I read.

(https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/the-secret-words/) Several people claim to have seen or heard the famous quip, however, it never happened. Snopes did a thorough investigation and tried to find evidence of the event. There are rumored "blooper" reels that reportedly feature the exchange but they're fakes. It's just an urban legend at this point but still quite funny.
